TEBA Super Max Contract Rule

 

1. **General Rules**:
– Each team may offer up to **two super max contracts** per season.
– The **maximum salary** for any super max contract is **3000 baht per game**.
– Super max contracts are divided into three categories: **Veterans, Regular Players, and Rookies**.
– Teams can allocate these contracts across any eligible player type but may offer a **maximum of two total super max contracts** per team.

2. **Veteran Super Max Contract**:
– **Eligibility**: Players with **5 or more seasons** in the TEBA League.
– **Max Salary**: 3000 baht per game (higher than the regular veteran salary range of 1100-2500 baht per game).
– **Terms**: Veterans must be signed to a **minimum of 2 seasons** when offered a super max contract.
– **Limits**: Teams can offer **only one veteran super max contract**.

3. **Regular Player Super Max Contract**:
– **Eligibility**: Players with **2 to 4 seasons** in the TEBA League.
– **Max Salary**: 3000 baht per game (higher than the regular player salary range of 1100-2500 baht per game).
– **Terms**: Super max contracts for regular players must be signed for **at least 1 season**.
– **Flexibility**: If a team does not sign a veteran to a super max, it may offer two super max contracts to regular players.

4. **Rookie Super Max Contract**:
– **Eligibility**: First-year players drafted or signed as free agents.
– **Max Salary**: 2500 baht per game (increased from the regular rookie salary range of 650-1000 baht per game for second-round picks and 1100-2500 baht for first-round picks).
– **Terms**: Rookie super max contracts are capped at **1 season** to evaluate performance.
– **Limits**: A rookie super max counts as **one of the two** allowed per team.

5. **Veteran Minimum Contract**:
– **Eligibility**: Players with **6 or more seasons** in the TEBA League.
– **Minimum Salary**: 1500 baht per game.
– **Terms**: This contract allows teams to retain experienced veterans at a lower cost while managing salary cap flexibility.
– **Limits**: Veteran minimum contracts do **not count** toward the super max limit and can be issued **once per team**.

6. **Previous Salary Structure for Reference**:
– **First-round draft picks**: 1000-2500 baht per game.
– **Second-round draft picks**: 500-1000 baht per game.
– **Veteran regular salary**: 1100-2500 baht per game.
– **Super max contracts for veterans and regular players**: 3000 baht per game.
– **Rookie super max salary**: 2500 baht per game.
– **Veteran minimum contract**: 1500 baht per game.

7. **Additional Incentives**:
– **Performance Bonuses**: Players on super max contracts may receive bonuses based on individual and team performance, to be explicitly detailed in their contracts.
– **Multi-Year Option**: Teams may offer **multi-season contracts** for both veterans and regular players, provided the super max salary remains capped at **3000 baht per game**.

8. **Luxury Tax**:
– Teams exceeding the salary cap due to super max contracts will incur a **100 baht per game luxury tax** for every game they exceed the cap.

This structure reflects the current salary ranges for first-round, second-round, and veteran players while providing flexibility for teams to attract and retain top talent within a controlled framework.
