TEBA League Player Signing and Retention Rules

 

1. Import Player Signings*
– *Signing Window:*
– Teams are permitted to sign import players at any time before the season begins.

– *Draft Player Restrictions:*
– Players who have declared for the TEBA League Draft are ineligible to be signed by any team before the draft. Teams must wait until the draft to select these players.

– *Penalty for Violation:*
– Any team found to have signed or selected a draft-eligible player before the draft will forfeit their first-round draft pick. This forfeited draft position will be awarded to either a new organization or the team with the worst record from the previous season.
– Teams that repeatedly violate this rule will incur a fine of $200 for each infraction.

*2. Retention of Players (Effective 2025)*
– *Thai Passport Holders:*
– Teams are allowed to retain up to 3 players with Thai passports from their previous season’s roster.

– *Expat Players:*
– Teams may also retain 1 expat player who resides in Thailand. Proof of residency and eligibility must be provided to the league for verification.

*3. Contract Management and Player Eligibility*
– *Contract Submission:*
– Teams must update player information, including their Excel roster, player profile status, and upload signed player contracts within 48 hours of signing a player.

– *Penalty for Non-Compliance:*
– Failure to comply with the 48-hour submission rule will result in the contract being voided, and the player will be deemed ineligible to play for the team.
– If an ineligible player participates in a game, the team will incur a $100 fine for each game the player plays.
